After retiling a bathroom, the user cannot reach the old threads of a delta tub spout because the new tile covers them, and needs a way to extend the threads or attach the spout.

There is no easy DIY solution for extending shower/tub spout threads when tile work changes the wall thickness; existing plumbing fittings are not designed for post-construction thread extension without cutting or removing tile.
